The thin slab sent from the continuous casting machine is uniformly heated to the rolling temperature according to the process requirements. The continuous casting billet entering furnace temperature of the production line put into production is generally between 850℃-1050℃, and the exit temperature (rolling temperature) is 1100℃-1150℃, and the temperature in the furnace needs to be raised by 50℃-300℃. It is required that the temperature difference between the length and width of the discharged slab is ≤±10℃, and the temperature at the edge of the slab (within the range of about 40ram) is about 40℃ higher than the temperature in the middle.

During single-strand billet rolling, the furnace can store several single-strand billets. When the Hitachi crawler bottom roll mill changes rolls or stops rolling in an accident, the thin slabs sent by the continuous caster can be stored in the heating furnace to ensure continuous casting The machine is in normal production, and the furnace plays a buffer storage role. According to the steel rolling process requirements, the buffer time during the production of single-length billets should be no less than 12 minutes to ensure that the rolling mill has sufficient time to change rolls and deal with accidents.
