Description
Our Excavator Bottom Rollers Production Process Details (Factory Real Scene Shooting):

Assembly Steps:
- Clean Parts: Before assembly, all parts need to be thoroughly cleaned to remove oil, rust and burrs.
- Install Bearings: Install the bearings on the axle and ensure that they are in the correct position. Use special tools to measure the diameter and width of the bearing to ensure that they meet the specifications.
- Install Floating Oil Seals: Install floating oil seals inside the wheel body and ensure that they have good sealing performance. Oil seals usually consist of metal sealing rings and rubber rings. The metal ring provides rigid support and the rubber ring ensures the sealing effect.
- Install O-rings: Install O-rings on the contact surface between the bearing seat and the wheel body to further improve the sealing performance.
- Assemble The Wheel Body And Axle: Insert the axle into the center hole of the wheel body and fix it with pins and sleeves. Make sure the axle can rotate freely and avoid looseness.
- Check The Rotation Performance: After assembly, the rollers need to be tested for rotation to ensure smooth operation and no abnormal noise.
- Apply lubricant: Apply industrial gear oil to the rotating parts of the rollers to ensure long-term stability and lubrication.
- Install On The Track Frame: Finally, fix the assembled rollers to the support seat of the track frame and ensure that they are firmly installed.

Recommended Replacement Cycle for Excavator Track Rollers:
The optimal replacement cycle for excavator track rollers (also known as bottom rollers or support rollers) depends on several factors, including working conditions, maintenance practices, and roller quality. Here are general guidelines:
- Standard Working Conditions
2,000–3,000 hours: Under normal operations (e.g., moderate terrain, balanced loads), inspect rollers regularly and replace them if significant wear, cracks, or seal damage is observed.
- Harsh Working Conditions
1,000–2,000 hours: In abrasive environments (rocky terrain, muddy/sandy soil) or heavy-duty applications, rollers wear faster and require more frequent replacement.
- Signs for Immediate Replacement
Excessive noise or vibration during movement.
Visible cracks, deformation, or oil leakage (indicating seal failure).
Uneven wear affecting track alignment.
- Maintenance Tips to Extend Lifespan:
Clean rollers regularly to prevent debris buildup.
Lubricate as per manufacturer guidelines (if applicable).
Check track tension to reduce roller stress.
For precise intervals, always refer to the excavator's service manual or consult the roller manufacturer. Proactive replacement avoids costly downtime and track damage.
Excavator Bottom Rollers Common Problems:
(1) Wheel wear. This situation occurs because the steel used is unqualified or the hardness of the material during heat treatment is low, and the wear resistance is insufficient;
(2) Oil leakage. The supporting wheel shaft is constantly rotating through the sleeve, and oil must be added to the wheel body for lubrication. However, if the seal is not good, oil leakage is likely to occur. In this way, the shaft and sleeve are easily worn without lubrication, causing the product to be unusable. The reasons for oil leakage are as follows:
1. Unqualified floating oil seal;
2. Insufficient roundness of the product sleeve;
3. Insufficient glossiness of the supporting shaft;
4. Gear oil does not meet the standard;
5. Processing size tolerance, etc. The above problems will cause oil leakage in the supporting wheel.
Excavator Bottom Rollers Oil Leak Inspection And Elimination:
1. During the installation process, the parts should be strictly inspected according to the technical requirements, kept clean, and prevent impurities from entering the installation surface. Especially the sealing end face of the sealing ring, even tiny dust particles will damage the seal and cause oil leakage.
2. The sealing sleeve and sealing rubber ring need to be replaced with new ones if they are aging, deformed, scratched, or cracked.
3. The spring should be replaced when the elastic force is insufficient, and the uneven end face can be ground flat. When the pressure ring is warped, it should be repaired and leveled, and the sharp edges should be removed.
4. If the large and small sealing rings are not in close contact, they can be re-grinded to have a uniform and continuous grinding ring belt. It is not allowed to hit the end face of the ring and disrupt the partner ring. The thickness of the ring should be consistent, otherwise it must be replaced.
5. If the thickness of the rubber ring is not enough, it is allowed to wrap asbestos rope to make it tighter than 0.15-0.20 kg per square centimeter.
6. The bending, out-of-round or neck wear of the axle, the wear of the supporting wheel hub and the sealing housing matching belt must be repaired.
7. When the bearing and the sealing ring are worn on the plane, a 2-4 mm thick oil-resistant rubber ring can be used between the sealing sleeve and the end face of the hub according to the degree of wear. After installation, the sealing sleeve assembly should be able to rotate freely on the hub. In addition, a gasket with an outer diameter of 100 mm, an inner diameter of 85 mm, and a thickness of 1.5 mm can be used between the outer ring of the bearing and the supporting shoulder of the sealing housing to compensate for the wear of the bearing. When the height of the sealing sleeve is less than 32 mm and the width of the bearing is less than 41 mm, it should be replaced with a new one.
8. The paper pad on the supporting wheel should be kept intact and of appropriate thickness.
